June may have been a rainy month, but man o man the weather has been incredible lately here in Upstate NY! These Sagamore Resort wedding photos with Courtney+Ryan will show what perfect days we’ve been having. Courtney was gracious enough to give us a lot of info for this blog feature, so I’d prefer to just let her do most of the talking, which you’ll see below. I did just want to add though how much fun these 2 were, and what a blast we had capturing this absolutely gorgeous wedding at The Sagamore in Lake George.

What are your wedding colors and/or themes?
Our wedding colors were navy, ivory, tan/khaki and blush pinks.

Did you incorporate any fun themes/motifs or design elements?
We kept the planning of the wedding simple. The majority of the guests had never been to Lake George before, so we knew the beauty of the area would speak for itself!

We brought a nautical theme into the wedding: rope knots to hold the table numbers, a wood carving of the lake for guests to sign, a knot on our menus and invitations, anchors on the men’s ties, and a small anchor on the cake.

What was your inspiration for the wedding?
Our inspiration for the wedding was to share with our friends and family one of our favorite places that has held many special memories for us: Lake George!

Since this was a destination wedding for 88 out the 92 guests, we were thrilled that so many of our loved ones rented houses and hotels for the week and days leading up to the wedding. Friends and family spent the week before the wedding meeting up for get-togethers such as BBQ’s on the lake and trips to Saratoga. Guests went beer tasting, white water rafting, hiking, boating, and cliff jumping. The night before the wedding, guests were greeted by a beautiful sunset and a wonderful welcome dinner at The Algonquin. And after our wonderful day, family and friends met for a farewell brunch on the lake. It was special to make so many wonderful memories with the people that mean the most to us!

Did you include any special traditions old or new?
My wedding band was my grandmother’s vintage 1930’s ring.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?
After the wedding, the party continued at a lake-side bonfire at the Sagamore, complete with s’mores and surprise entertainment arranged by a guest: a bagpiper!

The Sagamore always gives us great backdrops for our wedding detail photos!
Another beautiful C+W bride :)

Beautiful bridesmaids, great dresses, and killer flowers (tip of the cap to David and the team at Renaissance)
We took advantage of a first look between these 2, on the gorgeous grounds, before starting the ceremony
