What are your wedding colors and/or themes?
Stonover Farm is absolutely gorgeous! The venue itself exudes rustic elegance with original barn flooring and turquoise accents. We didn’t want to compete with the natural background and beautiful barn. We complimented the background with muted earth tones of mauve and tope and hints of gold accents.
What is your inspiration when planning your wedding?
John and I met in Dallas, Texas. We wanted to bring a “Red-Dirt Country” feel to the Berkshires featuring some of our favorite food, drinks and music. Mezze created an amazing “family-style” menu featuring chicken and waffles, cornbread with jalapenos and peach cobbler, just to name a few. The Signature “moscow-mule” and “lunchbox shot” drinks helped start the party. The Houston Bernard Band even learned some of our favorite “Texas Country” songs, tying the night together.
Did you incorporate any fun themes/motifs or design elements?
Small details such as framed country music lyrics at each table, gigantic connect four, corn hole, life-size jenga and an assorted desert table gave our wedding that “backyard feel.”
Did you include any special traditions, old or new?
I wore my mother’s veil. My grandmother hand stitched the lace around the boarder. Although my grandma was not able to make it to the wedding, I felt like I had a little piece of her with me while I walked down the aisle.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
We would like to thank all of our family and friends who traveled to share this special day with us.
