We were lucky enough here at Clark+Walker to be invited to shoot the darling couple (names intentionally withheld for Google) below, in Syracuse at the Landmark Theater. I’ve been to the Landmark Theatre a bunch when I was younger, since I grew up in CNY, but this was my first time shooting a wedding. I have to say it was AWESOME. For me this was just such a unique combination of ceremony and reception at this wedding, and it was exciting and just very different in an awesome way.
Check out this gorgeous ceremony location… wow.
Adorable bride to begin with, then throw a Monique Lhuillier dress into the mix and look what you get!
I love this shot of her Mom seeing her for the first time and the huge smile, it was touching.
Once we all arrived at the Landmark Theatre for the wedding, the bride stayed down stairs while the groom made the rounds. I love this shot of her father giving her soon to be husband a little love and some joking before he married his daughter. The bride was downstairs catching everything she could see
The inside of the Landmark Theater is incredible. So much interesting detail in every shot! Heading up the stairs to make their grand entrance.
That ceiling! Talk about ornate!
This was something, again, that was very different at their wedding. Instead of leaving the ceremony location and going to the reception and toasting over dinner, they had toasts right in the balcony of the Theatre immediately following the ceremony. Such an awesome idea! I mean look at this location, and the lobby was full of champagne waiting for people as they exited the ceremony.
I know we almost never post family shots, usually it’s creative bridal party shots and beautiful light pictures of the bride and groom. However I wanted to share a great example of what else we do at weddings. Because we were taking family shots at the Theatre I wanted to scout around a find a spot that would look as gorgeous as the venue, not just a set of stairs or in front of the ceremony location. I found this spot, balanced the lighting to match the background, and we had an entire list of family formals done in 22 minutes.
One of my favs from the day, just absolutely timeless and classic in every possible way.
You know you are rockstars once you’ve got your names on the marquee!
Right as the reception was about to officially start we pulled them off for literally 10 minutes to grab these shots in the butta light
They held their reception at Lemon Grass Restaurant which was just around the corner from the Landmark Theater. The bride’s father owns the amazingly yummy restaurant so it was a no-brainer, and also a much different vibe than you’d get at a reception venue. Very personalized and the people there were extra careful to make sure everything was done with a smile. The chef made us some Thai food for dinner and it was incredible.
The bride had a surprise for her father during their parent dances, and I love her expression when she was rocking out with him!
On the way out people had these cute favors, the mini ties were a nice touch.
Thank you all so much for having us, it was a blast and we hope you love the images as much as we do!
