What are your wedding colors and/or themes?
There’s no competing with the beauty of the Adirondacks in early summer. Everywhere you look is green! So we chose grey, blue, and white as our colors to compliment all of the natural elements. Our theme was an intimate, rustic bash.

What is your inspiration when planning your wedding?
We wanted our wedding to have a destination-feel but not be very far away, and Lake Placid ended up being the perfect place! We loved the fact that our guests could stay the weekend and go boating, hiking, walking through town (including the Lake Placid Brewery)- all of the reasons why we love it here!

Did you incorporate any fun themes/motifs or design elements?
We wanted a personal feel to our wedding. We loved having our nieces and nephew apart of the ceremony. And with a husband-to-be that is an arborist and owner of a tree farm, it only seemed fitting to have our favors be Norway Spruce seedlings. Our hope was for our guests to bring home and plant them to have a visual memory of our wedding. They can watch it grow over the years, and be able to contribute to the environment!

Did you include any special traditions, old or new?
Will chose to honor his late father by wearing his wedding band. We needed to have it resized at the jeweler but his parent’s initials and wedding date are still engraved in it, which is very special to us. Lauren wore an antique ring of her mother’s, and had both of her late grandmothers’ engagement rings tied to a ribbon on her bouquet- a tradition her sister unknowingly started at her wedding.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?
We had the time of our lives! Every detail reflected who we are as a couple and we couldn’t have asked for more. One highlight for us was how amazing our band was. Seriously, everyone should have them! They kept everyone out on the dance floor all night long.
