What are your wedding colors and/or themes?
We didn’t have any specific colors, but because we were having a tented/outdoor wedding I wanted everything to feel very natural and in keeping with the landscape. I used a lot of sage, light grey and tried to focus on the three main colors of succulents (green, purple, grey). We combined that with some natural greenery and hydrangeas as accents to pull it all together. We also used wine barrels as tables during cocktail hour and tried to pull in natural accents (like a live edge wine rack, wine barrel bars, and a beer canoe) to keep with a rustic outdoor theme.
What is your inspiration when planning your wedding?
I didn’t really have any one specific inspiration for the wedding. I really wanted to capture the landscape and views that River Ranch offered. Once we decided we were going to have a clear tent that really changed a lot of the decorating decisions I made because I wanted to make the interior of the tent feel like you were still outside. I tried to use minimal décor in the tent so that the focus really was the mountains around us. Douglas, our florist, really captured this with the table arrangements. We did simple succulent centerpieces with sage and grey table clothes.
The only other inspiration I had was that I really wanted to get married under an arbor that was adorned with flowers. Douglas really took it to the next level by decorating it with natural yet vibrant floral arrangements.
Did you incorporate any fun themes/motifs or design elements?
We wanted there to be a really personal feeling to the wedding so we tried to incorporate some fun elements that the guests would enjoy. Brad and I grew up alpine ski racing, so we used a finish sheet as our table arrangement list and ski bibs as the table numbers (then people could wear the bibs later in the evening!). We also printed out small Polaroid’s for each table and tried to find funny/throwback photos of all the guests, and have at least one for each guest at their table.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
The clear tent really pulled it all together! I would strongly recommend it to people considering a tented wedding.
