For those of you who have been reading along for a while, you may remember that last June we were married at the Aurora Inn. Imagine how nice it was to be back a year later, almost to the day, to shoot Kristin and Steve’s gorgeous wedding! These two are so obviously in love and just incredible together. It was such a joy to get to be a part of their day at a place that means so much to us.
Kristin and Steve met while attending law school at Syracuse University and started dating in the spring of 2006. Three years later, Steve proposed by sending Kristin on a scavenger hunt across campus with stops at memorable locations along the way. The final destination was the exact room where they had met – the ring was hidden under her seat. How sweet is that?
Kristin’s dress was a stunning creation from Suzanne Ermann Paris paired with jewelry from Tiffany & Co. She wore a long drop veil that was so classic and romantic. Never underestimate the power of a fabulous veil for rocking some gorgeous photos! She pinned a doll she received as a baptism gift from her grandmother under her skirt.
The ceremony was really important to Kristin and Steve, who planned their wedding around the color of blue hydrangeas and their shared love of the countryside – Kristin grew up with horses while Steve grew up with cows. They wanted a simple, elegant celebration that reflected their love for nature and wanted to showcase the Finger Lakes for their family from out of state.
The flowers, designed by Wildflowers in Dyrden, NY were a pretty mix of hydgrangeas, irises, palms, hostas, roses and ivy. Kristin tied her crucifix necklace to her bouquet.
Steve and Kristin were seriously awesome to photograph. They’re one of those couples you just know is meant for each other.
The cake was a five tier cake, a number they picked specifically to honor their four years together with a fifth tier to represent their future. Next to the cake Kristin placed framed photos of her and Steve’s parents on their respective wedding days. Before making the first cut, they made a toast honoring their parents, who between them have celebrated over 75 years of marriage. In addition to cake, they brought in a huge spread of Italian cookies from a favorite bakery in New Jersey.
Such a beautiful wedding and a really amazing couple – thanks, Kristin and Steve, for asking us to be a part of your wedding. Congratulations!
